Time Blocking; Tip#22

6/5/2017

Do you know what time blocking is? It is reviewing your to-do list, determining what is most important, and then finding a spot (or blocking off time) on your calendar to do the priorities, and writing must be a priority if you want to be a published author. If you block off time or schedule time for something, it is more likely to get done and easier to stick to the commitment when you see it in writing.

We all take out our planners, our calendars, or phone apps and note doctor appointments, kid's baseball games, cleaning the toilet, etc.. Well, maybe cleaning the toilet is a bad example since most people just have a weekly cleaning schedule, but you get the idea. Block off calendar time for pursuing your dream of being a published author and then respect that time and have others respect it as well. You'll be glad you did when that 78K novel is done.

I do this a lot of time. With the kind of life that I have since I am so busy with my job, I need to have everything schedule. Actually, I don't have time for myself right now since my job requires my time. Time blocking is important for people who seemed to be loaded with a lot of stuff to do so that he can be productive on a single day. But we should never forget to give time for ourselves too!
