I got a surprise today, and it wasn't the ice storm that hit our area. I wasn't expecting a lot of sales for my third Yarn Genie Mystery novel, "Murder at Yarn Mansion," until the book's official launch June 2, but the book started rising up in the Amazon rankings almost immediately. Even more surprising is that when I checked the status of the first two novels, "Knitting Up a Murder," and "Hooked Into Murder," I saw their rankings rising correspondingly.
The take away from this: If you want your first novel in a series to be noticed and read, write another book and keep moving forward with your writing until you get to where you want to go. To keep myself moving forward, I've already started novel number four. -Celeste Bennett, author of Yarn Genie Mysteries

That's simply right. If you want your book to be noticed by a lot of readers, your book has to be relatable! There mist be something special about your craft that will make your readers realize that you and your book is one of a kind, and you're worth following. I haven't read the book, but I am sure that it's amazing and going to offer something new! I just have to confirm it!

This is really inspiring. I have been writing professionally for quite some time now and I have slowly learned to appreciate what I do no matter how lame or shallow I can get sometimes because for the last thirty years, I have only been doing this as a hobby and yet, I never enjoyed writing as much as I do now because I feel the more you are pressured to finish a truckload of deadlines, the more you get used to it. I really enjoy writing and now have a reason to write. The pay would just be the bonus.
